Get original essayAre you looking for a solution to feel more active and energized with less pain? Functional medicine is the perfect path to go. This is the future of conventional medicine system presently available. It is an enhanced approach, which focuses on recognizing and addressing the origin of the disease. Functional Medicine reinstates the balance in the body’s primary physiological processes with the help of scientific principles, analytical testing, and cure other than drugs or surgery.
Functional Medicine views all people as different individuals; both physiologically and genetically unique. It provides one-on-one personalized cure to the individual. Here the symptoms act as clues to verifying which body part needs support.
Science is the only way to know what is happening inside the body. Functional Medicine is intensively based on science. The most recent research shows that what happens inside the body is linked in a difficult web of relationships. One should need to understand those relationships to see deep into the functioning of the body. Functional Medicine is defining the disease treatment again.

The company doing the public relations must know exactly what the other party wants in terms of exposure. Consumer Credit / Personal bars: grant credit to household in a limited amount to buy some durable consumer goods like television sets, refrigerators, washing machine etc. Such consumer credit is repayable in installments. Under 20-point programme, the scope of consumer credit has been extended to cover expenses on marriage, funeral etc., as well.
Miscellaneous Advances: Banks also gives advances like packing credits to exporters, export bill purchased or discounted, import finance, finance to self-employed, credit to weaker sections of society at concessional rates etc.
Banks gives various forms of services to public. Such services are termed as non- banking or secondary functions:
Agency Services: Banks perform certain functions on behalf of their customers. While performing these services, banks act as agents to their customers, hence these are called as agency services. Important agency functions are:
The concept of religious freedom is self-explanatory; it is the freedom to practice one’s own religion. It protects people’s right to live, speak, and act according to their beliefs peacefully and publicly. It protects their ability to be themselves at work, in class, and at social activities. Various religions can be found around the world with the major religions as Islam, Christianity, Buddhism and Hinduism. Each religion has a different concept of God as well as different lifestyles as guided by their religious leaders, which in turn influences their own interests, activities, opinions, and attitude. While the majority of civilized and developed societies today have succeeded in establishing respect and understanding about the different religious beliefs amongst their population, there still exist in many areas around the world intolerable attitudes towards other religions and their lifestyles with many conflicts still unresolved.
Get original essayReligious freedom benefits both individuals and communities. For many, a relationship with God is the most important aspect of their lives, and their faith guides them in values like honesty and responsibility, which impact their families and communities. It encourages them to volunteer at homeless shelters, schools, and other places that help the less fortunate. Restricting religious freedom can have dire consequences. It endangers other civil liberties including free speech, free association, and even economic freedom. Some faith-based social service providers and educational institutions often have core beliefs about issues like marriage, family, and sexuality. Forcing them to compromise their religious commitments would hinder their ability to serve their communities. Freedom of religion not only protects someone’s beliefs, it should also protect their right to act on their beliefs.
Unfortunately, many issues surrounding religion today are the controversies due to the many stories and incidents surrounding religious wars and their resulting toll on emotions, physical calamities, and economics. The wars that we read about in history from the Jews and Christians to some Muslim emperors and leaders that discriminated and violated the Hindu beliefs and lifestyles force religion to be viewed as harmful by many. The majority use it as a source of power and domination over other religious people and their beliefs. A perfect example is the dangerous misunderstanding that Islam and ISIS, a Sunni jihadist group with a particularly violent ideology that calls itself a caliphate and claims religious authority over all Muslims, are united. ISIS used the name of Islam to further their terrorist cause which in turn had given Islam a terrible reputation. In addition, ISIS gave rise to the term ‘Islamic terrorism’, which is often confused with Islam even though several hundred Islamic scholars signed a letter denouncing ISIS and its theological views. Another example is after 9/11, Muslims in the United States faced discrimination because of ‘Islamophobia’ or rising anti-Islamic sentiments. They were subjected to federal policies such as the Patriot Act, the New York Police Department’s Muslim Surveillance Program and the federal National Security Entry-Exit Registration System, which required all males 16 or older from 25 countries to register every time they entered and exited the U.S. The process included fingerprinting, photos, providing private financial information and interrogating people about the purpose of entry and nature of their travel outside the country. While this process did not explicitly target any particular religious group, it mostly affected Arabs and Muslims, according to research on the impact of the program that was stopped under the Obama administration. Data from the Institute for Social Policy and Understanding in the United States shows that Muslims are more likely than any other faith groups to experience religious discrimination in both institutional and interpersonal settings. It is unfortunate that American Muslims also face higher levels of discrimination when applying for jobs (33% of Muslims, 5% of Jews and 8% of faith groups), in interactions with law enforcement (31% of Muslims, 2% of Jews and 8% of others), and even when receiving health care services (25% of Muslims, 5% of Jews and others).
All this is to show that the discrimination has led to restrictions in practicing religion freely which led to widespread backlash. In 2010, France implemented a rule that women are no longer allowed to wear the full Islamic face veil (niqab) in public. So as not to target Islam directly, a general statement was released “concealing the face in public space”. However, this had an opposite effect in that the niqab became more desirable and that some young women found it exciting to defy the law. They felt powerful, defying the forbidden. In France, ‘good’ citizens saw themselves as responsible for enforcing the law and directed threats and even physical violence towards women wearing the niqab. This resulted in standoff between the two sides, which could have been easily avoided if the religious women were left to practice their beliefs freely. This proves that denying religious freedom can cause conflict between members of society.
Freedom of religion can be violated through government restrictions that deny religious freedom to one or more faith communities or through discrimination that target one or more religious communities in a society. In some countries where freedom of religion is not respected, government restrictions exist alongside social hostilities. Recent studies have shown that one-third of countries have high or very high restrictions on freedom of religion. As some of these countries are very populous, nearly 75 per cent of the world’s population live in countries with high restrictions on freedom of religion. In a book titled ‘Thou Shalt Have No Other Gods Before Me’ and written by a professor of religion and politics from Bar-Ilhan University, Jonathan Fox, conclusions were drawn on a data set recording the treatment of 771 religious minorities in 183 countries between 1990 and 2014. The data set comprises of 35 types of government-based religious discrimination, which include restrictions on the construction of religious buildings, controls on religious literature and prohibitions on chaplaincy services in prisons. It was discovered that in 162 countries, government-based religious discrimination was perpetrated against 574 of the minorities at some point during the study period.
In the United States, freedom of religion is protected by the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which prohibits laws establishing a national religion or impeding the free exercise of religion for its citizens. A study by the Hudson Institute’s Center for Religious Freedom has shown that religious freedom promotes stability in a society filled with people of different backgrounds and belief systems, but when limited, increased violence and conflict occurs (as shown in the niqab issue in France) wherever religious freedom is high, there is more economic prosperity, better health, lower income inequality and prolonged democracy religious freedom directly correlates with the protection afforded other civil and human rights such as freedom of speech. This is why religious freedom is essential, it contributes to a just and free society where tensions are negotiated and people live peacefully with their deepest differences.
Religious freedom is a fundamental human right and should be protected at all costs. Religious freedom thrives when the government stays out of religion; matters of religious belief should be left to individuals and faith communities, not to governments or political majorities.
USB, the Universal Serial Bus has been around for decades and is a heavily used standard in the world of personal computers. Memory sticks, external drives, mice, and web cameras are all interfaced over USB. In this article we will look into USB Audio: a standard for digital audio used in PCs, smartphones, and tablets to interface with audio peripherals such as speakers, microphones, or mixing desks. In this article, we set out to show how USB Audio works, what to watch out for, and how to use USB Audio for high fidelity multi-channel input and output
Get original essayUSB is a protocol where the PC, the USB-host, initiates a transfer, and the device (for example a USB speaker) responds. Each transfer is addressed to a specific device, and to a specific endpoint on the device. IN-transfers send data to the PC. When the host initiates an IN-transfer the device has to respond with data for the host. OUT-transfers send data to the device. When the host performs an OUT-transfer it sends a packet of data that the device must capture. In the world of USB-Audio, IN and OUT transfers may be used to transport audio samples: an OUT-transfer to send audio data from a PC to a speaker, whereas an IN-transfer is used to send audio data from a microphone to the PC.
There are four sorts of IN and OUT-transfers in USB: Bulk, Isochronous, Interrupt, and Control transfers.
A bulk transfer is used to reliably transfer data between host and device. All USB transfers carry a CRC (checksum) that indicates whether an error has occurred. On a bulk transfer, the receiver of the data has to verify the CRC. If the CRC is correct the transfer is acknowledged, and the data is assumed to have been transferred error-free. If the CRC is not correct, the transfer is not acknowledged and will be retried. If the device is not ready to accept data it can send a negative-acknowledgment, NAK, which will cause the host to retry the transfer. Bulk transfers are not considered time critical, and are scheduled around the time critical transfers discussed below.
Isochronous transfers are used to transfer data in real-time between host and device. When an isochronous endpoint is set up by the host, the host allocates a specific amount of bandwidth to the isochronous endpoint, and it regularly performs an IN- or OUT-transfer on that endpoint. For example, the host may OUT 1 KByte of data every 125µs to the device. Since a fixed and limited amount of bandwidth has been allocated, there is no time to resend data if anything goes wrong. The data has a CRC as normal, but if the receiving side detects an error there is no resend mechanism.
Interrupt transfers are used by the host to regularly poll the device to find out whether something worthwhile has happened. For example, a host may poll an audio device to check whether the MUTE button has been pressed. The name Interrupt transfer is slightly confusing, since they do not interrupt anything. However, regular polling of data gives the same sort of functionality that an host-interrupt would provide.
Control transfers are very much like bulk transfers. Control transfers are acknowledged, can be NAKed, and are delivered in a non-real-time fashion. Control transfers are used for operations that are outside normal data flow, such as querying the device capabilities, or endpoint status. An explanation on how device capabilities are described is outside the scope of this article, and we just state that there are predefined classes such as 'USB Audio Class' or 'USB Mass Storage Class' that enable cross platform interoperability.
All transfers are made in USB frames. High Speed USB frames span 125µs (Full Speed USB are 1ms) and are marked by the host sending a Start-Of-Frame (SOF) message. Isochronous and Interrupt transfers are transmitted at most once a frame.
USB Audio uses isochronous, interrupt and control transfers. All audio data is transferred over isochronous transfers; interrupt transfers are used to relay information regarding the availability of audio clocks; control transfers are used used to set volume, request sample rates, etc.
The data requirements of a USB-Audio system depends on the number of channels, the number of bits to represent each sample, and the sample rate. Typical channel counts are 2 (stereo), 6 (5.1) or much higher for studio and DJ use. Typically sample size is 24 bits, although 16 bits is available for legacy audio, and 32 bits for high quality audio. Typical sample rates are 44.1, 48, 96, and 192kHz. The latter is used for high quality audio.
Suppose that we design a stereo audio speaker with a 96kHz sample rate and 24-bit samples. In order to simplify data marshalling on host and device, 24-bit values are typically padded with a zero byte, so the total data throughput is 96,000 x 2 channels x 4 bytes = 768,000 bytes per second. The isochronous endpoints run at a rate of one transfer per 125µs; or 8,000 transfers per second. Dividing the required byte rate over the frame rate gives us the number of bytes for each isochronous transfer: 768,000/8,000 = 96 bytes per transfer.
When using CD rates, such as 44,100Hz, the transfer rate works out as 44.1 transfers per second. In USB Audio each transfer always carries a whole number of samples; alternating transfers carry 48 and 40 bytes (6 and 5 stereo samples), so that the average rate works out as 44.1 bytes per transfer.
A single isochronous transfer can carry 1024 bytes, and can carry at most 256 samples (at 24/32 bits). This means that a single isochronous endpoint can transfer 42 channels at 48kHz, or 10 channels at 192kHz (assuming that High Speed USB is used - Full Speed USB cannot carry more than a single stereo IN and OUT pair at 48kHz).
When transmitting digital audio, latency is introduced. In the case of High Speed USB this latency is 250µs. A packet of data is transferred once in every 125µs window, but given that it may be sent anytime in this window a 250µs buffer is required. On top of this 250µs delay, extra delay may be incurred in the O/S driver, and in the CODEC. Note that Full Speed USB has a much higher intrinsic latency of 2ms, as data is only sent once in every 1ms window
The big issue in digital audio is to agree on a common notion of time. Above we have defined USB frames to be transferred 8,000 times per second, and set the speakers to play a sample 96,000 times per second. This will only work if the speaker and the host agree on the length of a second. USB-Audio offers three modes that ensure that the host and the speaker agree on timings:
Adaptive and synchronous mode are not ideal because PCs are notoriously bad at keeping a stable clock, and there are often other audio sources involved, such as an external digital deck. Asynchronous mode enables external clock sources to be used as the master, or a low-jitter clock in the device. Typically, either relies on a crystal based PLL.
Hence there are at least two separate clocks in the system, the USB clock with a host driven frequency of 8,000 transfers per second, and a sample clock with an externally driven sample rate of, for example, 96,000 Hz.
These clocks will have subtly different frequencies, and the difference will vary slightly over time. Hence the average number of audio samples per frame will be slightly more or less than the expected rate. For example, in the case of our 96,000Hz sample rate, the average number of samples maybe 12.001. In order to ensure that the host sends the right amount of data, and not too much or too little, the host requests the current sample rate over an interrupt endpoint. Every few milliseconds the average sample rate over the last period is reported back as a 16.16-bit fixed-point number. If the last period averaged out as 12.001 frames, then the value 0x000C0041 will be reported (65536 * 12.001).
Given this average rate, the host can work out when to send an extra sample in a transfer; in this example 8 transfers each second will carry one extra sample. In addition to this, the host can use this value to synchronise itself with the audio device. This enables host applications such as a DVD player to keep the video in sync with the audio. If it didn't, the audio would slowly run ahead of the video, and after two hours the audio would be a second out.
In order to keep a short feedback loop, the trick is to not buffer audio packets and feedback packets unnecessarily. Any additional buffering creates latency in the reporting, and this latency makes it more difficult to keep a smooth flow of traffic. This means that the low-level USB stack and the USB-Audio stack should be tightly integrated, without buffering in between. Although this is hard to achieve on an application processor, this is quite easy to achieve if the software is implemented on an embedded processor that has a predictable execution time.
The above scheme considers just two clock sources - either the USB device provides the clock, or the host provides the clock. In more complex devices such as mixer desks there may be other devices that provide the sample rate, for example through a digital interface such as ADAT or SPDIF, or through a BNC connector that carries the word clock. For systems like this, the USB-Audio standard allows designers to put a clock selector in the device.
The clock selector states which clock is to be used as the sample rate. The clock selector has multiple input clocks (e.g., the incoming clock on an S/PDIF connection; a local crystal, and the incoming clock on an ADAT connection) and with a control transfer the user selects which clock to use as input, for example the incoming clock of the S/PDIF connection.
Once a device is USB-Audio Class compliant, it will integrate neatly into the operating system. Figure 3 shows a screenshot of the controls of a USB-Audio device plugged into Mac OS/X. It shows that the clock selection, sample rate selection, channel volume control, and mute control are all controllable just like for any other audio device.
Figure 3: An interoperable device appears in a standard O/S dialog (Mac OS/X in this example), and the O/S can set volume, sampling rate, etc.
Compliance to the standard makes the device interoperable. O/S vendors can supply a single USB-Audio driver that drives a multitude of devices, with a multitude of capabilities.
Indeed, the same USB-Audio implementation can be parameterised to implement a different number of channels, and the same driver can be used to interface to the device.

The human mind is so active that an individual experiences approximately 70,000 thoughts each day. These thoughts are often conflicting in their nature, as the stream of consciousness does not readily divide thoughts into categories, and thoughts enter and exit the mind freely. The novella Metamorphosis by France Kafka strongly presents a character that faces two conflicting desires and tendencies of character. Gregor is plagued between his social desire of being human and belonging and a new animalistic side, which oppresses these social constructs. Kafka successfully uses furniture within Metamorphosis as a portal between these two sides, and how they both aid but also hinder Gregor in keeping what is left of his humanity. This work by Franz Kafka can also be read as a critique of the human inclination and how individuals place too much value on social constructs, in terms of identity, relationships, and values- a topic that will be discussed in the conclusion.
Get original essayThe conflicting tendencies of Gregor’s character commence at the preamble of this novella when Gregor first awakens in his transmogrified state. He is no longer a human, but a cockroach – an insect exaggeratingly less complex in thought process and thought-movement correspondence. Yet Gregor is given no time to process his new body and mind due to his family’s constant questioning regarding his absence from work. Gregor, in this frenzy, tries to reach his parents and the chief clerk in order to reassure them that he is all right. In order to do so, Gregor, still not accustomed to his new physique, must use a chair in order to reach the door leading out of his bedroom. “Gregor slowly pushed himself across the door with the chair, there let go of it and dropped against the door… and there rested a moment from his exertions” (p. 99). It is clear that this task is no easy feat for Gregor, yet he pays no mind to how excessively strenuous this endeavor is. Reaching his parents and the chief clerk becomes even more difficult when Gregor tries to open the door; his thin and dangly arms are not strong enough the turn the doorknob and he owns no teeth to grip the doorknob with. “Luckily his jaws were very powerful… he got the key to move, and he didn’t stop to consider that he was certainly damaging himself in some way, because a brown liquid came out of his mouth “(p. 99). Although Gregor is seemingly injuring himself while trying to open the door, his desire of social interaction overrides the pain he is in. It is very clear here that a conflict between Gregor’s social desire and animalistic identity is starting to arise. The main character’s remaining human tendency is latching on to whatever social desires are left; that is, the desire of pleasing his family and not troubling his chief. “He truly had it in mind to open the door, to show himself and to speak to the chief clerk; he was eager to learn what the others, who were all clamoring for him, would say when they got to see him” (p. 97) Gregor’s only human identity is that of a salesman, and in a desperate attempt to conceal his newfound animalism, Gregor desperately tries to function as a human would. However, this new animalistic side is in defiance and opposes his social inclinations, bringing into question the direct nature of Gregor’s character. The use of furniture within this scene works as a gateway between what he desires and where the capacities of his actions lie.
Gregor’s overriding animalistic identity becomes even more obtrusive as the plotline progresses. The scene preambular to Gregor’s death, where the whole family along with their three tenants, sit at the dinner table and attentively listen to Grete vigorously playing her violin, is significant in portraying the dominance of his cockroach tendencies over his human social desire. Gregor advances out of his room here for the first time since an apple strikes him, thrown by his father in a fit of rage for frightening both his mother and sister. Gregor wishes not to bother his parents or his sister since the realization that his presence unsettles him, but this introverting sense of self his pushed away by his attraction to the music his sister plays. “Could he be an animal- to be so moved by music?” (136) Kafka uses free indirect speech within this rhetorical question in order to bring Gregor’s emotional and social perspective into the light. Gregor, in his slowly deteriorating state, is confused as to why he still has such passion for human constructs that his transmogrified state cannot perceive or comprehend to the same extent anymore. However, Gregor is unluckily caught in the act and forced to retreat slightly, as his father rises from the dinner table in great hostility. Grete, tired of the suffering she feels, makes an outspoken remark: “dear parents, things cannot go on like this… I don’t want to speak the name of my brother within the hearing of that monster, and so I will merely say: we have to get ride of it” (138) This reflects the breaking away from the family’s previous mantraic mode regarding Gregor’s existence, as they simply tolerate him before. It is here that Gregor fully realizes that his existence now is one of redundancy as his sister has finally given her honest opinion regarding his existence and which tendency of his character is more prominent- “ the monster” (138). He therefore turns around in order to retreat to his room, yet faces difficulties. “He was struck by the great distance that seemed to separate him from his room, and was unable to understand how, in his enfeebled condition, he had just a little while covered the same distance, almost without noticing” (140). It is here where the reader fully comprehends Gregor’s deteriorating state. Gregor’s animalistic side has strengthened to the point where he can no longer use his social desire to the same extent in order to reach the door. Additionally, with this retreat towards his room, Gregor now understands that he must let go of his human self and die as a cockroach. Insects live short, simple lives without emotional desire. His animalistic character cannot be withdrawn and this inevitable truth must be accepted. His family agrees: “If it was Gregor, he would have long ago seen that that it is impossible for human beings to live together with an animal like that” (139). Gregor passes away the next morning. The dinner table and door in this scene can be seen as the transition from Gregor as an existence with conflicting character tendencies to an existence with only one character.
Gregor’s use of furniture in Metamorphosis clearly illustrates his conflicting tendencies of character, specifically between his social longing and monstrous identity after his transmogrification into a cockroach. It is clear since the beginning of the novella that Gregor attempts at accepting this new animalistic side to him, and once it becomes a normalcy, his desperation to keep his humanity leads him into using furniture as a means of obtaining these social desires. Yet at the end of the novella it is clear that Gregor cannot keep these conflicting tendencies on the same plane, and chooses to abandon his humanity in order to save his family from eternal unhappiness. Metamorphosis may also be viewed as a critique of human inclination as due to the fact that Gregor tries to contain his human longing, he sacrifices the relationship with his family and damages himself physically as well as mentally. Kafka argues that such a longing for human inclination will only hurt an individual in the long run, and should be avoided.

It’s a well known complaint that the problem with higher education institutions is that they’re preparing students for jobs of the past. Another major issue is that many of the jobs that people are training for today won’t exist at all in 20 years, as software automation (aka bots) will eradicate the need for service providers such as drivers, waiters, nurses, stock brokers, accountants, telemarketers, retail assistants etc. The average person that turns 30 years old in the U.S. today has worked 11 different jobs. In just 10 years, the average person who turns 30 will have worked on 200-300 different projects.
Get original essayWith technology so rapidly advancing, and many jobs already extinct, every job that currently exists will either disappear or morph completely and continuously within a current students first few years on the career ladder. Research suggests that at least 60% of the jobs ten years from now haven’t been invented yet. This poses a tremendous issue for educators today - to teach students the skills to be able to solve problems that don’t exist yet, and won’t exist for years. So what do the job markets of the future look like? Ed Gordon, author of ‘Future Jobs’ tells us the first four are clear:
Thomas Frey, a famed Futurist at the DeVinci Studio, and author of ‘Communicating with the Future’ identifies as many as 50 new career opportunities before 2030, here are his top 20: Augmented Reality Architects – Much like the paint we put on houses and the flavorings we add to food, the future will seem boring if our reality hasn’t been augmented in some way.
Alternative Currency Bankers – According to Javelin Strategies, 20% of all online trades are already being done with alternative currencies. The stage is being set for next-gen alt-currency banks.
Waste Data Managers – To insure data integrity in today’s fast evolving information storage industry, multiple redundancies have been built into the system. Achieving more streamline data storage in the future will require de-duplication specialists who can rid our data centers of needless copies and frivolous clutter.
Business Colony Managers - Business colonies are an evolving new kind of organizational structure designed around matching talent with pending work projects. The operation will revolve around some combination of resident people based in a physical facility and a non-resident virtual workforce, with some opting to forgo the cost of the physical facility entirely. People who can effectively manage this type of operation will be in high demand.
Avatar Designers – Next generation avatars will become indistinguishable from humans on a two-dimensional screen. However, avatars will only live in the computer world for a short time longer. It is only a matter of time before they emerge from the computer and appear as visual beings, walking around among us. Once an avatar goes through the radical metamorphosis from an image that we see on a screen to a three dimensional being that joins us for dinner, carries on conversations with our friends, and serves as a stand-in for us at meetings, we will see work start on an even more realistic avatar, one that we can touch.
3D Printing Engineers – Classes in 3D printing are already being introduced into high schools and the demand for printer-produced products will skyrocket. The trend will be for these worker-less workshops to enter virtually every field of manufacturing, stemming the tide of outsourcing, at the same time, driving the need for competent technicians and engineers to design and maintain the next wave of this technology.
3D Food-Printer Engineers – Pushing the envelope for 3D printer technology even further, will be the coming age of food printers. Converting 3D printers to work with cartridges containing food-stocks will prove difficult and demanding on a number of levels. Those who can solve this kind of problem will be in high demand. More details here.
Book-to-App Converters – Over the coming months we will begin to see a form of competition brewing between books and apps. With both being information products that we interface with differently, we will begin to see a large scale effort to convert existing books and literature into an interactive app, similar to the current effort to convert popular literature from print to audiobooks.
Data Hostage Specialists – Holding people as hostages is very messy. But holding data hostage is a less-risky crime that can be done remotely, and has the potential for far greater rewards. This is especially true if the country you’re living in condones your actions. This type of activity will give rise to the likes of data-hostage negotiators, data-retrieval specialists, and damage-control analysts.
Smart Dust Programmers – In it’s simplest form, smart dust consists of a sensor combined with a wireless transmitter and some kind of power source. Many are envisioning the power to come from wireless RF signals. The reason it is referred to as “smart dust” is because the technology is shrinking in size until it reaches the particle size of dust. Future designs for smart dust involve detecting everything from moisture content, to soil temperature, to chemical composition.
Personality Services – Talking back and forth to a computer that has a machine-like voice is boring. But being able to download specific “personality packages” will add an entirely new level of engagement for basement-dwellers everywhere. The hottest personalities to download will be offshoots of existing characters or celebrities such as being able to download a David Letterman personality, a Homer Simpson personality, or perhaps even a Darth Vader personality.
Smart Contact Developers - The idea of “smart” contact lenses, the kind that can superimpose information on the wearer’s field of view has been around for a while. But the first iteration of smart contact lenses is already on the market and industry execs are beginning to generate a wide array of possible applications.
Nano-Medics – The medical problems most people have can be traced to a single cell or a small group of them. Health professionals capable of working on the nano-level, both in designing diagnostics systems, remedies, and monitoring solutions will be in high demand.
Elevated Tube Transport Engineers – The next big infrastructure project on planet earth will be a human and cargo transport system designed around a network of vacuum tubes with maglev tracks. Operating at less than 2% of the cost of today’s car, truck, jet, ship, and train systems, this emerging tube transport system will be a massive undertaking that demands talented new-age thinkers for decades to come. More details here.
Drone Dispatchers – Drones will be used to deliver groceries and pizzas, deliver water, remove trash and sewage, monitor traffic and pollution, and change out the batteries on our homes. Skilled dispatchers for future drones will be high demand.
Brain Quants – Where the stock market manipulators of the past meet the brain manipulators of the future to usurp control of Madison Avenue.
Time Hackers – If we think cyber terrorists are a pain, it will seem like nothing compared to devious jerry-riggers who start manipulating the time fabric of our lives.
Clone Ranchers – Raising “blank” humans will be similar in many respects to cattle ranching. But once a clone is selected, and the personality download is complete, the former clone will instantly be elevated to “human status.”Memory Augmentation Therapists – Entertainment is all about the great memories it creates. Creating a better grade of memories can dramatically change who we are and pave the way for an entirely new class of humans.
Space-Based Power System Designers – At some point, the burning of earth’s natural resources for power will become a thing of the past. Space-based systems will capture and transmit power far more efficiently than anything currently in existence.

Future of health psychology is still unknown but there are some important goals that health psychologist need to approach for the future development of the discipline.
Get original essayStarting from the basic ideal for professional health psychologists that all people have the right to health and healthcare (WHO, 1995), there are still differences in health all over the world, including highly influencing parts such as Europe. Health inequalities reflect social inequalities (Kawachi, 1999) and every health psychologist work should be oriented to try to reduce them. There are also health inequalities when it comes to accessing health education and services due to differences in gender, age, ethnicity, believes and sexual orientation; health psychology should target those people with a poorer access or greater need of healthcare and work to cover their necessities (Michie, 2007).
Moving on to more specific aspects in the discipline, future development in health psychology should orientate empirical work through theories that already exist; this would lead to the rejection of those theories that are proven wrong and to the development of evidence-based theories and techniques for reducing health-risk behaviours and increasing health protective ones (Michie & Abraham, 2004).
On the area of research and intervention, whilst substantial effort has been invested in the design of interventions for changing behaviour and promoting health, HPs must pay more attention to the development and research of efficient methods for promoting their use (Michie & Abraham, 2004). This suggests that, although there are some promising health interventions, HPs should be more specific when describing the intervention programs so they could be implemented in other contexts.
As the last but not least future improvement for health psychology, this one relies on the personal choices of each professional. Individual health psychologists may develop themselves in a particular area of research; however, they never must stop learning and they should be aware of findings in the other areas so they might be able to connect one theory to another one for improving treatment and research on the psychological and social processes that have an impact on our health (Abraham, 2007).
These ways of future development of health psychology, suggest that for the discipline of health psychology to keep growing, new health psychologists must approach to the prevailing health reality and keep their minds open to society needs and demands (Garzón & Caro, 2013).
Research and development of health psychology may also contribute to society with the promotion of a series of values that are connected to the discipline. Murray and his colleagues (2004) identified that, besides health promotion and disease prevention, the practice and development of health psychology is a way of making a more equalitarian society and enhances care, compassion and collaboration within the members in the community.
This is evidence of the relevance of socioeconomic status as a major factor on the prediction of people’s illness and health.
Another issue that health psychologists must be aware of is the influence that societies have on people’s cognition and behaviour (Carroll et al., 1993). Kennedy and Kawachi (1999) argued that health could be affected by the distribution of income within society, with health status being better in those societies with a more equivalent dispersion of the income. The fact that health has to do with economics and society implies that any health intervention needs to be carried out at a political level, for which health psychologists must also be aware of political issues and have some knowledge about the relationships between economic policies and individual wellbeing (Bandura, 2000).
These researches suggest that health psychology is a multidisciplinary field and health psychologists’ comprehension needs to go further than just psychology and just health; they must be aware of the political, social and legislative context in which they work (Michie, 2007).
