Overall in the Basic Leader Course (BLC), I learned a lot of good information about Leadership that I will use throughout my military career and is going to be a benefit for my leadership skills. One of the two Lessons that I learned was Servant Leadership and Followership and the second one was Culture and Competence. I didn’t know about this concept after I come to Basic Leader Course (BLC). Now I have a better understood about be a Leader.

Servant Leadership is that leader that support and help their followers and make sure to training and share their knowledge. A good servant Leader put the need of other’s first, and then consider his own. Respect your followers that you want them to respect you. Be loyal to and create that good environment, your Soldiers is going to appreciate it. Because a good Servant always will put their soldier's needs about his own. Show then that you really care about their issues. You as a Servant leader you communicate with your soldiers by Example and listen to what they need to be a better person and improve their military career.
People of different religions and cultures live side by side in almost every part of the world, and most of us have overlapping identities that unite us with very different groups. We can love what we are, without hating what – and who – we are not. We can thrive in our own tradition, even as we learn from others, and come to respect their teachings.
Culture and Competences was the second lesson that I learned and enjoyed in Basic Leader courses (BLC). You as a leader have to understand you, soldiers, when they come from a different country and everyone have a different belief and culture. Respect everybody and have that open mind with your soldiers. Learn about your soldiers and used that to improve your leadership skills. In the Army you will have a diversity of culture and you always will have somebody from a different country and you can use all that knowledge to make your soldier feel comfortable in your team and they focus to make sure the mission is complete.
To conclude this Essay, I will be a future Non-Commission Officer (NCO) and knowing my role as a leader, I have to understand this concept and use this knowledge to influencing others and take care of my soldiers know how to communicate myself with them to they understand how to complete the mission. Be a leader is more than just give orders is how you know your soldiers and you can change a group to a team o even better a Family. The role of a leader is more important than thought and I will always have everything that I learned in the Basic Leader Course (BLC) present in my mind.
